Building a Health and Safety culture
In our lines of work – demolition, excavation, and equipment hire – health and safety has to be at the centre of everything we do. This is why RM Penny are registered and approved by Achilles, CHAS & Constructionline.
We are committed to always working safely, and we make sure that to our team, health and safety is business as usual, and not an irritation. We do this by engaging external health and safety advisors. They regularly come to our site, keeping all of us up to date with the latest legislation, and ensuring that everyone is fully qualified and insured for their individual roles.
A safe site; run by a well trained, safety conscious team – that’s always a priority for an RM Penny project.

Our positive attitude to health and safety means that our customers can trust our working practices. Our equipment and methods are all up-to-date; and as the staff are used to working within a health and safety-focussed culture, they simply get on with any safety measures in a calm and professional manner.
What can our clients expect? All projects we undertake will have:
- A full risk assessment – of all processes, equipment, personnel, and the site.
- A health and safety plan and method statement – a document that explains what safety measures we will put in place to ensure your projects runs safely as well as smoothly.
- Regular visits from RM Penny management to check that all measures are in place and operating.
- Dedicated supervisor or supervisors, whose main role is to oversee the health and safety aspects of the project.
- Consistent and experienced management support.
